One of the wonderful things about globalisation is that it offers a vastly greater number of niches to small operators, business and countries all around the world.
Even the big corporates of the world are increasingly embracing a networked approach to business which links many smaller pieces of their value chain together around the world. Look at Benetton and Nike - two excellent examples. The vast majority of their global business is outsourced through a network of small, flexible, highly competitive component partners.
For us what's next is the chance to work with a small Caribbean nation to assist with the development of a long term strategy to position the country to take advantage of high value global niches which are in tune with their resources and capabilities.
It's an exciting project. We'll all learn a great deal from it!
