Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce

Ian Ivey is involved in a series of foresight focussed strategic planning workshops with members of the executive team of this Caribbean-wide business representation group. The last session was held on June 13th, 2008 in St. Lucia and follow up sessions are planned for the near future.

Trinidad & Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA)

The TTMA ran this year's international Trade and Investment Convention from April 29 until May 2, 2008, in Trinidad. Ian Ivey ran two forum sessions at this event. The first wasbased around the sector foresight 'best bet' business investment projects that he has been leading in the region. The second focused on his work with regional entrepreneurs and innovators and what made then successful. More details at http://www.tic-tt.com/default.asp

CARICOM - Agricultural Sector Best Bets Seminar

Ian Ivey has been working on a project with CARICOM to promote investment in the Caribbean region's agricultural sector using a foresight approach to identify potential opportunities which small island nations could effectively develop and expolit. He presented his findings at a seminar for international investors, financiers and agri-business sector interests held in Guyana on June 6-7, 2008. More details at www.caricom.org

NCST Sector Best Bets Project, Barbados

Ian Ivey will be facilitating two sector workshops in Barbados on July 31st and August 1st in Barbados. The first workshop focuses on identifying niche opportunity areas in the health and wellness sector within a global foresight context that offer new business opportunities for this small island nation. The second workshop focuses on opportunities in the ICT sector within a similar context. This project is being run in conjunction with the National Council of Science and Technology in Barbados.
